i’ve moved on from fashion for now and i’m currently working on my ‘introduction to computing’ assignment. easy. so easy in fact, i never went to any of the taught sessions. choose one artist designer from each of the 4 lists by category. make some minor adjustments to a few of their images and write 250 words about each artist/designer.

from the graphic designer category i’ve chosen to use david carson. this video is handy, he’s pretty funny as well.

christo - wrapped buildings (image from www.leninimports.com) Having selected my outfit and studied it’s form and characteristics i must now research 8 seminal pieces of work from a list of architects, designers and sculptures that has been provide, and study their forms and components etc. for the purpose of inspiration and development. the first piece of work i have chosen is christo’s wrapped buildings. the decision was an easy one to make. he uses what would appear to be large sheets of fabric to cover the buildings immediately giving the piece a look that would suit researching for a project in fashion, and also the fact that he’s working with buildings ties in the with the very architectural feel that the strong lines and bold shapes on the chosen outfit portrays. i just need to do a few drawings and studies of the buildings and I’m good to progress to the next piece.

christopher kane - fall 2009 rtw (image from style.com) i’m finally posting what i’m doing. right now i’m working on a fashion assignment. it basically ends in a head and facial adornment. the first step is choosing an outfit from a fall 2009/spring 2010 ready to wear collection from a list provided. i went with this outfit from christopher kane’s fall 2009 ready to wear collection. i need to consider design elements now but it’s pretty difficult to do thoroughly from just the front view. does anyone have a link to any other views of this outfit? the back would be nice but obviously i’ll take any views i can get. any fashionistas out there that can help?
